Wedding Reception Centerpieces and Design

The tables at the reception will hold the wedding centerpieces. In a real sense, the bride’s choice of a centerpiece can help set the mood or tone of the reception. The bride can choose from a wide range of different table decorations.

The most frequently-used wedding reception centerpieces contain both flowers and wedding candles. The bride must choose the type of flower and the type of candle. Some brides desire candlelight that comes from pillar candles. Other brides prefer the flickering light from suspended candle holders or floating candle centerpieces.

A bride must picture each possible centerpiece in a room that is not fully lighted. What mood does she feel that the centerpiece invokes? Is that the sort of tone she wants to set for her reception? After the bride has answered those questions, then she can safely choose from the flower and candle, wedding reception centerpieces.

Perhaps a future bride finds that she has disliked each of the flower and candle centerpieces that she has seen. Then she might want to consider the advantages of a custom made centerpiece. Custom made wedding centerpieces for the reception provide a bride with greater control over the mood or tone that might be suggested by a table decoration.

When designing a custom-made centerpiece, a future bride can state clearly the mood that she hopes to develop within her guests. When designing a custom made centerpiece the future bride also gets to select her preferred color combination. She might want to have a centerpiece with colors like those that she plans to use during the wedding ceremony.

A third type of wedding reception centerpiece is gaining popularity among young couples. Unlike the other ideas, this one type of wedding table decoration offers more than just eye-appeal. This third type of table décor can also function as a source of party favors.

Clever artists have come-up with a variety of different ways by which a candy holder can be made to look like the part of a flower. As the reception draws to a close, the bride can reveal her “secret favors” to her guests. This creates an added activity for the guests. Young and old guest can then enjoy reaching for those hidden favors.

Obviously, a centerpiece for weddings that contains favors could save a couple time and money. It does, however, mean the abandonment of the traditional wedding reception centerpiece. It does require a willingness to forego knowing that the chosen centerpiece has real flowers.
